Trip to Bamburg, Germany

After discussion and some good feedback from members who were interested in doing this trip, a proposed date has been finalised. Dates will be From Friday 14th November to Monday 17th November 2025.

You have an option for a two- or three-night stay, depending on your budget and how much time you wish to spend.
On either option the flights from Stansted to Nuremberg are the same.
Currently £29.99 per person each way with a carry-on bag 40x25x20cms
(Bigger Bag requirement will incur further costs)

Fly out 12.05 on Friday 14th arriving in Nuremberg 14:40
Fly Back 16:20 on Sunday 16th (for the 2 night option)
Fly Back 14:10 on Monday 17th (for the 3 night option)

From Nuremberg we will catch the U2 Metro to the main train station where we will then catch the train to Bamburg.
These are very regular (64 per day and costs around £20 each way) It’s a short 40 min journey.
NB-There is an option for a group save Bayernkarte ticket which allows travel throughout Bavaria for a group of 5 people for a fixed price of 32 euros for the day.

Bamburg has plenty of options for accommodation suiting all budgets.
Here's some Examples;
IBIS Budget is £149 for two for 2 nights, Best Western is £198 for two for 2 nights, Ibis Styles is £210 for two for 2 nights.

But For the third Night option the idea will be to spend this in Nuremberg.
Premier Inn is £47 for two for one night, B&B Hotel is £47 for two for one night and A&O Hostel just £31.

Bamburg is a beautiful old Town with a number of Breweries.
It's renowned for its Rauchbier (smoked Beer) but offers many other types to suite all tastes.
