The Vine, Black Notley

Hello everyone

As many of you know, our family has owned The Vine Inn for around 10 years. Although the doors haven't been open daily for the past couple of years, we've kept the heart of the pub beating through private events and functions - and now, we're excited to share its next chapter.

We are moving back next week to take over the running of The Vine, and we wanted to properly explain what we're trying to build.

The truth is, pubs just don't operate the way they used to. The traditional model of being open seven days a week from lunchtime until late simply isn't sustainable for many independent venues anymore - especially for small family businesses like ours.

But here's the positive part:

We believe The Vine can still be something special - a warm, welcoming, community-focused pub that works for local people and for our family.

Our aim is to rebuild The Vine slowly, thoughtfully, and sustainably - creating a place that offers quality, atmosphere, and reasons to come out and enjoy your local again.

Our long-term goal is to eventually be able to open in different ways, seven days a week - always offering something for our community. To get there, we'll need the right level of support and to build up the business step by step, including bringing in the right team as we grow. This is very much a work in progress, but we're committed to getting there.

Tomorrow, we'll be announcing our new opening times and some exciting weekly offerings, including themed evenings and food nights we hope you'll love.

We hope you'll join us on this journey, support your local pub, and help us bring The Vine Inn back to life.

We can't wait to welcome you all.

- Teal & Mike
